Hello Again

It’s been ages since I last wrote – and that was about our quick DC trip in early June! Gees louise! Well, a whole lot and a whole lotta nothing has been going on, depending on how you look at it.

The wedding is quickly approaching – less than 4 weeks! Luckily, we seem to be on schedule in getting most everything done, but we will be sitting down tonight or tomorrow night to go over the last of the to-do list. I had hoped to get more done last week, as I had the week off from work, and I started out fine, but then we got sidetracked. See, the Tahoe finally went caput on us. Cameron took it in to get the break pads replaced on Wednesday. The break pads were fine, but the car needed other fixes done to it, and that cost was about half of what the Tahoe was worth. So we spent Wednesday afternoon car shopping. Around 8 PM we drove home with this…

Cameron’s dream car in my fave color! We spent Thursday getting a few wedding errands done (finalized with the cake lady and the all important marriage license) and showing off our new “baby” to family and friends. The stop at Vicki & Joe’s in Biggs was wedding productive as well. Vicki was able to get all the photos of Cameron that I picked out for our digital picture frame display at the wedding, scanned, so that project is half way done. Now I just got to get mine scanned and all the pics organized.

In other activities, Cameron and I are about to complete Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet (ok, we started phase 2 a little early over the weekend). I jumped on the scale a few weeks ago and didn’t like what I saw, so Cameron being the supportive hubby-to-be that he is, joined me in restarting our exercise routine and trying this diet. So far, I’ve lost 13 pounds (I’m quite pleased with where I am now, but a few more gone would be nice) and Cameron has lost about 5, but he’s fitting into pants and shorts he hasn’t been able to wear since college. I’ve tried to be diligent about planning our menu for the week and grocery shopping on Sunday, but that didn’t happen yesterday, so I’m doing it during breaks at work today.

We spent the 4th of July driving the Corvette over to Pat & Kim’s for a BBQ in Lincoln and then over to Davis to watch Matt perform a skydive demo with his team Kaleidoscope as part of the city’s entertainment prior to the fireworks display. It seems most city fireworks displays went on as usual despite the 1000+ fires burning in Northern California. Luckily the air quality has gotten a little better, but I hope the smoke is completely gone in time for the wedding, but that’s probably a pipe dream.

We hosted a BBQ at our house on Saturday. Our friends and ourselves must be older, because when we woke up yesterday to assess the damage, there was none. It took me all of 30 minutes to pick up some empty bottles and cans, wash the patio down a little and wash dishes. Not bad, not bad.

All in all, we have been busy and I predict we will remain so for a while. As for pictures, until we find the charger to the camera, we’ll be without. Thanks Vicki for the Corvette pics!

Love always,
Sarah
