The wedding is quickly approaching - 3 1/2 weeks to go! I know for some people think 8 months isn't allowing enough time to plan, but 8 months seemed like ages of time to plan our wedding and we did well on keeping on our schedule up until the move and then everything came to a screeching halt.
We're back on track now. Last week we finalized things with our cake lady and even sampled a piece of her cheesecake. Because of the South Beach diet, it had been almost two weeks since we had enjoyed anything so delicious. We ate it so quickly that I think we scared poor Nancy.
We also secured our marriage license last week, which was kind of exciting. While the employees of the county clerks office acted like it was just another day at the office, a couple who just got married and were in there asking for a copy of their license were kind enough to recognize the significance and congratulated us.
Monday we pulled together a final To-Do list, and we're actually doing quite well for the things that we want to get done this week. Yesterday I was up in Chico to attend an appointment for the design of my wedding band and last night Cameron and I went to a jewelry store in Elk Grove and picked out his. Apparently we're a little late on this so there is a slight chance we may not have our rings for the ceremony, but for now, we're not worrying about it. If we need to we'll use "stand ins". I am missing my engagement ring as I had to leave it with the jeweler so that my band fits next to it perfectly. I keep having moments of extreme worry when I realize it's not on my hand until I remember where it is. I also keep feeling for it and try to twist it around my finger.
Stay tuned, as I'm sure the next few weeks of posts will be all about the wedding.
Love always,
Sarah
